Love on the Ground
GIRLS OF THE GOLDEN WEST
The Girls of the Golden West are a group steeped in the past. Marydee Reynolds and Amalea Tshilds, longtime Chicago artists, came together when they were invited to reprise the songs of Marydee’s great aunt Mille whose duo “The Girls of the Golden West” was a Country Western mainstay in the 1930’s as part of the WLS National Barn Dance. They were beloved for their haunting depression songs full of blood harmony. Today Amalea and Marydee write original material inspired by this past, joined by an array of Chicago talent, including Justin Brown and Aaron Smith.
Please join them every last Tuesday of the month at Hideout from 6-7pm.
